Sermons for the ages

"The waiting father" is a theme skillfully woven thoughout this sermon collection. The author/preacher is scholarly and engaging. My particular favorite is The Pharisee and The Publican, where Thielicke's insights have added a useful and convicting depth to this familiar parable. The Wheat and The Tares also contained profound and practical insights about the hiddenness and divine energizing of the kingdom.

Calling this a collection of "Sermons for the ages" doesn't mean there isn't the occasional dated reference, but I found them in no way inscrutable or distracting.

I would recommend this book to all those, including scholars, who think they know all they need to know about the parables of Jesus.

Would recommend this to a serious Bible student. Its writing style is a bit old fashion, but I am 70 years old and found that no problem.

very good illustrations,love the maintenance and breeding info on each species. mr. evers is not afraid to say "i don''t know" in the taxonomy of certain species unlike some other tropical fish authors. a great section on collecting , and biotope information of the amazon. i can't wait for the next one.

This book only contains loricardia type "Sucker Mouthed" catfishes. If they are your thing, then you can expect the typical "Baensch" quality.

On the other hand, if you are interested in corys or pimeloids or syndontis this is definitely not the correct book and you should probably wait for vol. 2 or get Baensch Aquarium Atlas V. 1 or 2 which are both better for the type of cats I like.

About the Author

that book was great. I had to get this book for Intro ...

My Intro to German class, taken at a community college, used Sag Mal, that book was great. I had to get this book for Intro II. It's not as good as Sag Mal. That's what my rating is based on. With that said, if you have a choice between two German Classes, one that uses Sag Mal, and one that uses Deutsch heute, go with the class using Sag Mal.
