The was not one of my best reads by Shannon Holmes. Dixyn was very slow to the game and after the DEA comes in and arrest her fiance, Byrce, things went from sugar to s*** real quick. With all the money gone and things being repossessed Dixyn has to turn to stripping to try and maintain. At the club is where she meets her future brother in law B-DUB, who is all about himself. Dixyn's life is steady spiraling out of control. Being manipulated by her friend Kendra and B-DUB, Dixyn is caught up in doing runs for B-DUB and later witnessing a murder. Now that her daughter, Ava has been kidnapped, Dixyn has had enough of being caught up in the tangled web.

an alright read

The character of Dixyn was really naive. After witnessing the arrest of her boyfriend Bryce and losing everything she restored to desperation. What I did not like about this story is how the character of d bub was written. He just showed up and then thrown in the storyline. Then Bryce was not mention for quite awhile in the storyline. It's like he never existed. Not a bad read the message at the end was received. Three and a half stars.

I read "Caught Up" in three hours.
The story is about a young woman by the name of Dixyn who is in love and lives with a hustler named Bryce. They both have a small daughter together. On the night he proposes to her, their house was raided by the DEA and he gets arrested. He goes to prison and Dixyn is left to pick up the pieces.
It was difficult for her to say the least, because she was accustomed to living a lavish lifestyle. But as the bills poured in, she quickly discovered she had to make some moves in order not to lose the house and car. She only had a high school diploma and no job training whatsoever.
Dixyn reaches out to her friend, Kendra who then exposes her into an unfamiliar world. A world where she makes some hard choices and compromises in order to keep afloat.
It is in this same world where she meets Bryce's brother, Brian Winters, who goes by B-Dub, where things go from bad to worst.
"Caught Up" is suspenseful, and the type of book where you don't want to put it down because you want to see what will happen next.
